For sun and sea, a family reunion, or a city tour, we have all the wardrobe essentials you’ll need for your weekend getaway! Labor Day is approaching and we know that you don’t have time to shop for something specific for your few days away. Here’s some inspiration that will get you packing. And if you haven’t yet booked a flight or planned a road trip, these great ideas may fuel a last minute trip to somewhere new!
Aruba – I know some of you are tired of swimsuits, cover ups, and flipflops, but personally, I could live on a white sand beach and never get tired of wearing a floppy hat and sipping on a margarita. If your plans involve a beach town, tote along some items that can go from beach to beach-side town in a jiffy. Dresses and rompers are great pieces that transform easily, as well as a pair of leather sandals. Large, lightweight scarves can be used to sit on the sand, as a cover-up, and for jazzing up an outfit in the evenings.
Chicago – Yes, its the Windy City, but there’s so much art to be seen and so many neighborhoods to explore. Make sure that you match this artsy, fashion-forward city and pack some items you may be hesitant to wear on your home turf. That blouse that has a bit of an exaggerated print? Toss it on with some culottes and kitten heels. That deep crimson purse you’ve only carried once? Pair it with some great neutrals while you’re trekking along Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and shopping your head off. You may find that your daring side comes home with you and spices up your daily outfits!
Orlando – Heading on a family friendly trip? You’ll need shoes you can walk in and clothes that are comfortable and quick, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your style! After all, won’t those pictures most likely make it into this year’s Christmas card? Shorts or linen capris are great, especially if you plan on riding the coasters with the kids. If you’re really feeling crazy, wear your swimsuit under your tank and shorts and hit the water rides with them as well! Lightweight sneakers, Tevas, or Keen sandals will dry fast and keep you moving from attraction to attraction.
Yosemite – For this type of trip, you’ll a wardrobe that’s a bit more practical. Pack your hiking boots, wide-brimmed hat or baseball, moisture-wicking tees and tanks, and breathable khakis or comfortable shorts. Lucky for us, there are great options for us that are a little more fashionable than hiking gear of yesteryear. For setting up around the campsite, a sundress would be great and practical for keeping you cool.
We hope this helps you pack for an outstanding Holiday weekend. If you need more assistance, feel free to Contact one of our Stylists for a personal review of what’s best for you.
