Why be a Stylist? Do you have a natural knack for style and a desire to help women look and feel their best? Would you like to turn that knack into income with a schedule you control? Women around the world struggle daily to get dressed and all too often walk out the door feeling “less than” because of a defeated sense of style, or an overwhelming frustration about their body shape. Why be a Stylist with the Stylist Online (TSO)? TSO is the sole owner of a unique body typing system, The Style Dial ®, which provides new and existing Stylists with a market advantage. We have designed a business in a box solution for incoming team members that enables TSO stylists to quickly launch (or enhance) their Styling business. A TSO Stylist is integrated into a network of peers who have similar desires in helping women embrace their shape and look great at any budget. Plus, we’re a lot of fun!
What is included in the Certified Stylist Training fee? The training fee covers all your certification classes, plus you’re “Business in a Box” (BIB). The BIB is all the things you’ll need to get yourself up and running as a Stylist of TSO; business cards, online profile, logoed bags, ongoing collateral access, and other fun surprises.
Why is there a monthly license fee? The TSO business model allows Stylists to control their own financial outcomes by offering a flat license fee instead of an agency split for services sold. This means that your income potential is determined by you, not TSO, and your recurring licensing fee will remain flat, regardless of how much your income may go up.
In addition, the fee covers each Stylist’s ongoing training and development plus access to all The Style Dial ® business collateral (the cool stuff you need to be successful). As a TSO license holder you’ll engage in monthly team meetings, collateral idealization and improvement plus group collaboration (online and in person). TSO Stylists (license holders) are a group of like-minded people with a strong interest in helping one another succeed. We share our cutting edge business and Styling ideas with each other!
What if I can’t attend all the certified training sessions? Although our hope is to get you up and running as the “go to” Stylist in your market in the shortest amount of time, we recognize that life may get in the way of the planned schedule. If you are unable to attend all of the live training sessions in the published training schedule, we would work with you to create a customized training schedule (may include recorded training).
What can I expect during the TSO Certified Stylist Training? You can expect a combination of live and self-paced webcast training environments (you’ll need internet access and a webcam to participate). You can also expect to become an expert in body type analysis and a secret weapon to the future women you service. All training sessions are recorded in case you need a refresher, or missed a few crucial moments because the doorbell rang. Click here for an example training schedule.
Do I have to have retail, or Styling experience? Believe it or not, no, you don’t have to have a background in the industry. Although, it can often be helpful to have worked in retail, or as a Stylist, it’s not necessary. We have the tools and training to provide the technical knowledge you’ll need to be successful. The right candidate has the skill set to communicate with compassion, to teach in small groups, to set and obtain goals, to collaborate in a team environment and to follow through with what they promise to do.
Why do I have to submit a resume and interview for this opportunity? We are selective about who we choose to represent the TSO brand. Our interview process gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your successes. An ideal candidate for our team is compassionate, a networker, presents well in front of small groups, wants to grow as an individual, feels rewarded when helping women feel their best, sets and obtains goals, likes collaborative environments, demonstrates follow-through & heroic customer service levels and is active in their community.
How many hours a week will I work? It’s up to you. During the training process you’ll develop a 30/60/90 Day Plan that includes income goals. Our team members Style anywhere from 20-100 hours a month and include SAHM (Stay At Home Moms), EN (Empty Nesters), PFTCM (Part/Full Time Career Moonlighters), WFP (Women Following a Passion).
How much can I charge for my services? This depends on your geographic region. For example services prices in central Florida would likely be less than a similar service in New York City. Click here to see an example of a service menu in California.
How much income will I make and how fast? Well, that’s really up to you. If you are a goal setter and find a sense of personal reward in helping women feel good about themselves you’ll have no problem creating income quickly. Our Stylists who follow their 30/60/90 Day Plan typically recoup their investment within two months of certification completion. Yes, the 30/60/90 Day Plan is part of the TSO Certified Stylist Training. The scenarios below are examples for Stylists who execute the Style Dial ® system 5-15 hours a week.
