As the Human Resource Manager for the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sheri has spent nearly twenty years in human resources in various industries, including biotech, advertising, branding, Internet-based companies and now hospitality.
Her current duties include recruiting, employee relations, performance management, succession planning, compensation planning, benefits management and training. In addition to sitting on the management team at the Bureau, she also heads up the internal fun patrol, a.k.a. the “Peanut Gallery,” a group of employees responsible for planning all team-building and employee recognition events. Sheri earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento and her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification in May of 2002.
Aside from her professional responsibilities, Sheri is involved in her community. She has been active as a board member of the Sacramento Children’s Museum, Active 20/30 and Sacramento Area Human Resource Association, and she has chaired fundraising events for the American Cancer Society and the City of Lodi.
